Even if I genuinely hate the work that I’m assigned to on paper (or in the job description), I’ll always find ways to challenge myself to make the most out of the situation (in addition to finding a new job after work.) First, if the job is very tedious, then I’ll find ways to automate as much of the job as I can using my Python skills. Second, if I have a lot of downtime (perhaps after automating too much), then I’ll use that time to take some MOOCs to upgrade my skills. Yes, it’s tempting to spend your downtime cyberloafing and most of us, including the best of us, probably have done that and aren’t very proud of it. Your time is money and squandering it on a bad, boring, or tedious job isn’t the best use.
