I’m not sure what constitutes my hometown. I was born in Xian, China but came to the US at the age of 3. I lived in Missouri briefly before moving to the suburbs of Detroit where I stayed from first grade till high school graduation. Most of my high school classmates including the few friends I made moved away. My parents then moved to the west coast a little over a decade later. In my case, I never really had a place that felt like a hometown. I’ve never spent more than half of my life in any one particular metro area. The place where I currently live basically constitutes as my “hometown”.
