My theory is that there’s a diminishing returns effect with projects. The impact of your first project on your resume would be much greater than your Nth project, esp if you’re just breaking into the field. And projects are time consuming.

Personally, I’ll only do a project if I’ll end up learning some new skill in the process or if it solves a problem I find interesting, not solely for the sake of looking great on my resume.
