By now, you may have noticed a ton of AI generated art appearing in your social media feeds and all over the web. This is a guide to quickly getting your hands dirty with Stable Diffusion, an open-source algorithm for generating images from text which is completely FREE (unlike Dall-E.)
Fastest Option:
Version 1.5 of the Stable Diffusion model is hosted on Huggingface (link). This is not the most recent version but it’s faster than the latest if you’re new and want to quickly experiment. Do this several times until you get a feel for the AI and by this time, you should be ready to go down the rabbit hole of Prompt Engineering.
Here’s an example that I’ve created using the prompt “cats and dogs in boxes”:
Higher Quality Option:
Version 2.1 of Stable Diffusion is the latest version as of this writing (2/23/2023) and there’s a demo available on Huggingface (link).
